DC Villains Unite! And Batman.

I have literally been preparing for the Superhero themed meet for months. I wanted all my Mini DC Villains and Batman to be as ready as possible, because if not for that meet, when? With both myself and my roommate working pretty much non-stop Saturday, we did it. The meet was Sunday and it went fantastically!! Several people dressed their dolls up, which was awesome. Mine are the only ones who are "full-timers", but before them I still had Gambit and Jean, so I was always ready for this meet lol.

Here is the whole (Mini) group!

Poison Ivy isn't mine, she's my Roommate's Unoa Lusis (I did the faceup on the winking plate as Ivy). Their props nearly did me in. I had to paint Joker's cane (it's the Tonner Joker's cane, which for some reason was green), make Batman's utility belt (it's not great), and Harley's Mallet. The hardest of all was Riddler's stupid staff, which has been done for awhile but keeps breaking. No glue holds this thing together, I swear. It broke when I got there, and after the host of the meet glued it back together, it broke when I was packing up! Ugh.

Also present was Giant Joker v1 and his new Harley.

Don't even get me started on how much I love them. She might end up with Version Two (Jaguar) because she's very stylized and while he is too, not quite as much as her...but for now they make a great non-couple!

His cane I made from "scratch". I mutilated a BTAS Joker by pulling off his head and gluing it too a dowel rod XDD I seriously feel guilt for destroying an action figure, even one I already own. My other Joker action figures are now living in fear....but not too much fear. They're all safe. 

I managed to grab a few decent pics of them in front of the backdrop I bought with all these DC guys (and girls) in mind after I got home from the meet.

She stole Alex's wig. And then ruined it by coloring it. I don't think he'll be happy.
She also got a pair of his old eyes. Eep.

Big Harley is kind a trashier version, mixing the New 52 and movie versions, since Mini Harley is more classic, pre-new 52. She's also a boy mold, with zero expression at all. I had to draw that smile on her so she'd be more Harley-ish. This is the head if anyone is interested. So anyway she's the reason I'm now broke as I bought two dolls pretty much back to back. Technically I bought an IH Amy, which will go to my roommate since it's what she wanted anyway....but still. Lots of my $$ sliding out of my hands. I think she's worth it. Especially since I don't have a girl who looks like this....with the exception of Isis all my girls are short and a little stocky or proportioned different. Even Isis has small boobs. I totally needed a busty, slender, tall girl. Well, taller. She's tiny next to him. Which is how it should be, he's pretty tall.

As I thought, Owen makes a fantastic Batman. He's perfect, the only complaint I could have is that I still think his head is large in comparison to his shoulders....but that's on IH not me. I have to figure out a better way to make the belt, and probably his gloves too, but for now I'm very happy with him. And totally intimidated because I had been thinking of all kinds of photoshoots I wanted to do and now he's ready and I actually have to do some!

Gambit and Jean also went to the meet (thanks to me and one other BJD owner DC characters outnumbered the Marvel characters a lot to two XD) and Gambit got to try out the glowing eyes I've had for a year and never used....but their unruly hair really drove me nuts. I need to do better with real wigs.

Jean's tattoos are chipping, which makes me so mad. But they were fairly easy to do, and I can probably fix the one on her back, but the one on her shoulder will have to come off and get redone someday. I'm going to add her to my list of nine million things my dolls need done.

Speaking of, my IOS Jaguar head showed up Monday. 

I'm totally in love with it (I knew I would be), but he presents a new problem I didn't really see coming. He fits on the Dollshe body even worse than the RD Norman head does. :P

I was planning on modding the neck of the body a little to get Norman to fit better (which is why I bought a new body for my Hound), so I figure I'll wait until I've got that done and try him on it again to see if modding will even make a difference. From the front it looks great. Amazing. It's just what I'd want. From the side it's horribly gappy and any movement makes it worse. Mods would be a must, I just don't know how much. So at least I don't have to spring for a body just yet. Especially since I have already bought two dolls this week. Yes. This week.

Regardless I've been thinking of what I want for him....I was really into the idea of the Dollshe Rhythmos body (which I swear I spell differently every time I type it), because it has the same shape as the other two, but no details, so I think it would be great for this stylized guy. But after hearing how badly the thing poses, I'm not sure I want to deal with that.

My #1 of all time choice would be Doll Chateau Adult....but not only will he not match at all, but that will cost me a fortune and be a good 9 month wait I do not want.

Dollmore Model would be perfect, if they sold their bodies in WS. WS being so limited I'd never find one and probably end up paying more for it than the DC body. Plus even yellowed it would be whiter than this head, which is pinkish.

So that's where I am. With all of these WS Dollshe bodies floating around I really want to get something for Spock, but until I decide what I'm doing with Kirk, they get to wait. I've been tempted to try and get a Dollstown 18 for Benedict, give the Dollmore body to Kirk and buy Dollshe for Spock. But that's a lot of money lol. I need to make sure everyone will fit on everything first.

All the Villains

Remember how I said I was working on Harley Quinn?

 She's a WIP still - I need to work on or redo her faceup - it was done on a day I should not have been doing faceups and is messier than I'd like (some of the mess was done deliberately, some was not. XD). The wig she's wearing is a Monique Jojo in white blond (Alex's) in a 6/7 and I swear it's too small for her. I always thought Unoa's wore a 6/7, but thinking about it, both Macchi and Clover have on 7/8s. So maybe not. She needs new eyes (those are gappy) and lots and lots of clothes. Lots of clothes. I have a list of props I want for her too. they all need props!!

 She works great with Joker.

 

She's on my Dollmore Judith body (Isis is not gone forever - I'm definitely keeping her head...but while I'm on this DC kick she won't be making anymore appearances), which is a PERFECT comic book girl body. I mean perfect. I actually had said that the first night I had Isis, after taking her out of her elaborate full set and playing with her a little. Her head is the Unoa Sist Bully plate. I have a Lusis Yawn plate I borrowed from a friend she's going to use as well.

She's very camera shy. The first day I had her together I posed her and Joker all over the place...and they were great. When I got out my camera she refused to even stand next to him. That pic took forever and it sucks lol

Joker got an Arkham uniform (version 1) so he can do things like sit around incarcerated.

 

 Also the cards. Might be a tad small, but they're better than the alternative which are giant. Sad thing is, I don't believe this deck has an actual Joker in it :(

 I've put up pretty much all the resins I intend to sell in the last couple of weeks - and it's a lot. I have a huge list of trades on each thread I'm trying very hard to stick too, and the very first thing I sold was a partial trade that included a Unoa FP and a Fairyland Minifee Mir head. Mir was the down payment and shipped last week. After he shipped, but before he arrived, I realized for sure that he wouldn't work for what I'd intended.... At the same time I was offered and turned down a trade for a doll not on my list, for another item I was selling.

I was looking at Dollzone's Benjamin, a very unique sculpt, and trying to decide if I needed one to possible be the Scarecrow....but I figured it would be a shame to cover that face with a mask....and he'd do better on a DC body. And omg realized what I'd done in turning down that trade only about an hour before.

So for the first time in my life I pmed someone and was all "I'm so sorry for changing my mind but would they still want to do the trade?" Yes I'm a flake. But seriously. This will be the prefect Scarecrow. PERFECT. And I didn't think about it at all until it was almost too late. *fail*

 While I was waiting to hear back from them I realized who Mir could be.

Anyone watch Gotham??

My camera hates him. Obviously he's even more a WIP than Harley. I am 100% sure he'll work out though - with the right faceup and wardrobe. And again, props (these villains need so many props!!! WHY?!). He's on a temporary body, but it might end up being permanent - it's an odd shape for him and he fits it weird. Mir has a very long chin and the head just eats all necks - even with the FL neck key (which I'm using). It works for this character however - he's a little on the awkward side. The body is also SHORT.

EDIT: he also got his new eyes today!! I have to take some pictures....they're definitely different.

So with another hairs cut, better clothes, a faceup, eyes...shoes (he's barefoot)...pretty much everything, I think Oswald Cobblepot will be a thing. I have glasses at home I need to look at - cause he needs some version of those too.

Since I'll have four of them I thought it would be fun for them to all have prison uniforms together....except I remembered Penguin has probably never been in Arkham...being sane and all. He'll have to settle for Blackgate greys. I'm sure Jonathan Crane will look good in orange.

Since I'm obsessed with these guys right now I haven't done much with my other dolls (other than disassemble some to sell - poor Wyn. He's a head in a box!!), but due to horrible weather it's not like I can. I have a few things on order: another possible Captain Kirk head, chattering teeth and eyes for Joker, eyes for another doll, an umbrella and a purple zombie lamb hat...but that's it. I am hoping to scrape up the money for bodies for Wyn and either Sage (yeah, another new body for her) or Spock or Kirk or Gabriel. Assuming Kirk works out when he gets here. Fingers crossed. I don't have a back up this time. D:

Doll-A-Kon, Etsy, stuff and more Alex.

I'll be at Doll-A-Kon again this year - not for faceups, as I've done in the past - but for body blushing. So if you have ever wanted to learn how to blush, this is the time! Hint: it's way easier, and much less stressful than doing a faceup, especially the way I do it. I highly recommend it.

I'll also be doing a posing and styling for photos panel and something on doll sizes...which I'm good at as I have them all XD

When I'm not doing a panel or workshop I'll be in the vendor room, so if you miss my panels n' stuff, come visit me there! I like to talk. I'll have Alex III with me, as he's better than a name badge for identification XD

You may remember a time or two of me mentioning that I have a roommate who sews and often makes clothes for my dolls that I can't buy anywhere - she'll be there and we'll be selling new, handmade items as well as used things and dolls. All the dolls I've been stockpiling up and not selling. So if you feel the need to buy BJDs, stop by! It'll save me from having to post them all on DOA. lol

I splurged a lot over the weekend and bought a Cricut (which autocorrect hates like mad)...so we'll have t-shirts (doll-sized) with stuff on them as well. I am the queen of vector art, so I'll try to have some original designs (gotta do it fast tho) as well as plain old boring stuffs like ribcage shirts and my personal favorite; NOPE. Who doesn't need a NOPE shirt?!? I want one for me. I'd wear it every day. There may be profanity, because Alex...but maybe people will want shirts that say F  CK    U or whatever ends up being on it. Or they'll just be Alex's shirts because I feel like all his shirts should be R-rated. Or at least PG13.

Because we're working on all this doll stuffs, our Etsy page is being revived. Finally. I may post a link next week or this weekend after there's more on it, but hopefully in the future it will be full and pretty. Macchi, Mini-Isis and Chester are all modeling skirts along with my roommates three girls. Of course I had to sneak my boys in there. Boys can wear skirts too! Macchi was happy...his had a Unicorn on it.

In other news, David. I am trying to prepare for my Nano book already, and I've been looking into developing David's character more since I usually run into road blocks with him, both in the comic and anything else I write. He's more important than I am often able to make him.

I have had similar trouble with the doll versions, from his eyes to his hair to his clothes (and body) he is so hard for me. So this week I started him a Pinterest board, something I should have done but was afraid too - because I thought I'd find nothing to pin in it. I'm so happy I did it finally. I feel like just finding some clothes was a huge step, and now I have a few more things that really helps me understand him better. David has always been my "boy scout" character. My version of Superman, Captain America, Cyclops (before he went cray) and Angel and Riley (Buffy) smooshed together.  That's how I think of him -  as Alex's polar opposite. I even figured his looks based off Alex (nose bigger, jaw squarer, eyes smaller, taller, more masculine) rather than coming up with something on it's own. Now I want to make him his own person/character....and it's hard. But starting to work. Now that I have the Cricut I can do what I've wanted to do forever which is make him a Superman shirt (Alex gets Batman. SEE HOW THEY ARE??!). Then I can start working on getting the doll a wardrobe, something I've been trying to do since day 1 of my owning him. It's not easy. He's tough. And Alex has a tendency to steal his clothes (in character that happens too so it's ok).

Speaking of Alex, it's Alex II. Don't get me started on him. He's on my list again.

 But hey, shirt!! And hat really, we'll be selling hats. but not this one, it's his.

You can see his eyes - they're new, Gumdrops in Periwinkle, making him the final Alex in Kara Klum form to get Urethane eyes. I love them.
He's no longer on the DC body. I couldn't take his tallness anymore. Now I love him again.

The shirts we'll be selling will not be that off the shoulder - it was a fluke, but since I draw him like that I love it. They fit SD13-SD17 but fit will vary (I tried them on David (Dollstown 15), Pilot (Volks Chris) and Gambit (Granada 64))

A Wishlist for 2015

I'm not in a very good mood right now.

My birthday is this weekend, but so far this whole week has sucked royally (except for last night which was fun)....Work is awful, as it is this time of year -but just gets worse each year. The weather is crap, and I have no time for doll things which usually cheers me up some. I got a flat tire yesterday so now I get to spend all my money on new tires and anything else wrong with my car when I bring it in. I was planning on gifting myself a small doll and possibly a head this weekend - but thanks to my car, that's not happening. And I have Jury duty Monday...and that's just the things I'll actually talk about.

My Sionna still hasn't shipped (which doesn't really count, I still don't expect her and don't expect her soon) and the Fdoll body I purchased second-hand still hasn't shipped yet which is beginning to piss me off.

So basically I'm not looking forward to anything, and life sucks right now.

So to cheer up I thought I'd look at things I can't have XDDD
But it's ok, because I will buy them eventually, and that's good enough.

Well, I'll buy most of them eventually.

The List

Yeah, this is the one I'll probably never get. He's so elusive I can't find anything when I do a search....just some owner photos and stuff Google refuses to translate. I will pine for him forever.

Withdoll tiny in SG 
What I was going to buy for my birthday and now am not. I really liked Tweedledee's cutes face, but it'll have to wait. I'm sure they'll come out with something I like in the future tho, and as long as it's cute and available in Sweet Green, I'm good.

Volks Dollfie World Cup Head (3)
According to VolksUSA they should be available soon, and I'd really love to enter again, even though I didn't even place last time. It was fun, and I thought it was nice they sent out rejection letters XD so we weren't all sitting around wondering. I like head 3 but might look at 1 again just to make sure. I love my 2 but have issues with him - His faceup IMO is one of my best, but doesn't match his style. So I don't want to wipe it, but I really should....I dunno what to do with him...maybe get another 2 and keep both? XD I've been looking at Volks heads a lot recently, kind of wanting another one, so this is decent timing. I'll probably get 3 if I get any at all.

Supia Ariel head + 63cm body 
The new Gabriel. I have two bodies in mind and I think either would work. One probably poses better but the other is prettier. Neither are set in stone, so I plan to just buy the head for now. Or someday.

Simply Divine Tatsuo head + DM Glamour Model body 
Hopefully he'll be Captain Kirk. He's my front runner along with Granada Uranus. I ordered Uranus as a just-in-case head, but Tatsuo looks like it will work better. Spock was a little smaller than I was expecting and looks great on the Dollmore Glamor body so everyone is getting Dollmore bodies!! Yay!

For Spock. I requested and got a great photo showing there is very little size difference in the Model and Glamor Model, so for the sake of variety, Spock will be Model, Kirk and Khan get Glamor Model.

BlueFairy TF Boy (possibly Robin)
Well, I can't stop thinking about replacing Raphael, even though I am keeping his current shell - Angel Region Cien. I doubt he'll ever sell as he's not a popular mold, and he really is perfect for the character so I am trying to rework him into something I want, but it's hard as I'm not inspired, can't find his wig, and don't have time or the weather to do a new faceup. So I'm keeping the BlueFairy on my wishlist. Just in case. (I bought a BF body second-hand on the MP...looks like I'm replacing Cien after all! ^^;).

Lillycat Cerisedolls: Ombre
I'm going through a phase where I really want an art-doll and this one is at the top of that want list. Sadly they're going on sale soon...and I won't have money. But I am thinking long-term so I can wait for another sale or maybe find one second-hand or one of the few others I'd like instead.

That's it! I feel like it's a small, doable list other than the bodies....and I'm not in a huge hurry so I can wait, even though I wanted stuff now! lol
If I can stick to said list, maybe I won't end up with so many random dolls and keep it simple this year! One can hope.

Ugh

After a mass apartment cleaning Friday night and all day Saturday, we managed to have a Doll Meet at our place. It went great, then my moms car broke down and I spent the next two days driving her around, and coming down with a sinus infection or horrible cold or something. Thanks to cold medicine which takes my brain away, I couldn't manage to do anything at all all week....so now I'm behind on life.

During this week I had a lot of shippings and some arrivals however....Plus my copy of The Pale Emperor by Marilyn Manson - which I am now obsessed with.

Luts: long story short, I ordered, on a whim, their Plush SD body. XD It should be here in a day or so. I can't even wait for this lol

Etsy: My two clothes orders shipped and one should be here any day now.
Benedict should also ship today - at least that's what I was told. Still haven't gotten a notice yet. But yay!!

I was worried because I thought he'd get here before his wig did, but

Dollmore: Shipped today! WOO! I've really been missing Vanilla for reasons.

Still nothing on my final Etsy order or Alice.

I am in talks to get an Fdoll body, so hopefully that will happen soon - this will be for Rowan, Sage's twin, so he'll have a body! Which means I need to figure out their wig sitch. I either need a new wig for Sage or a decent wig for Ro. They can't share the same one....it doesn't work.

F60 Soony is still fabulous on her SD10 body. I am working on different hands for her. The Zaoll hands are great for now tho.

And most fun - my MNF Celine (trade for Bory) showed up this week!!

This is not a final look. At least for now it's not. He came with this faceup, which is a little girly for me, but since I'm still not in a place where I can do them, it will be fine for now. Nail polish must come off. He may keep the eyes - and I have been dying to use that wig ever since I sold the doll I dyed it for eons ago. If he doesn't keep it, it'll be natural colors of either a pale blond or darker blond/black mix. I love this one tho >.< and so far it doesn't seem to be bleeding! Yay!

I was thinking he'd be a deer, but with the blue hair....I'm not sure about deer anymore.

Between him and my MNF Soony, there are three names I'm considering:
Chestnut Praline (Ches)
Peppermint Latte (Mint or Latte)
Cinnamon Dolce (Dolce)

I can't decide which fits him better, and which fits Soony (who is a panda with Macchi's original fur wig - white with a few color streaks) better. Celine is a photographer who turned paparazzi, Soony is a Panda techno-geek. Ugh. At least I know how they fit into Mocha's storyline. They have to be the last too, I was originally only going to have three. THREE. Mocha, Des and Macchi. Then four when Vanilla happened, and that was it. Now there's way more than that!! And I really want that Island Doll Wind girl who's name I can't remember for one of them >.< that may never happen...

Random trades are both my bane and favorite thing ever. lol

One Down.

The F60 Soony head arrived yesterday. I had a specific look I wanted for it, mostly shorter and chunkier than Sage on her Delf body, and as gender androgynous as possible....so there wasn't much for me to choose from. Last night my friend let me try the Soony head on her Volks SD10 girl body and it was pretty much perfect other than the hideous hands those poor things have. I was excited and planned to purchase one off of the MP first thing this morning, but by the end of the night she decided to sell me hers! So instead of a head arrival, it was actually a full doll! And I'm down one floating head! I even found a wig that with a quick cut will be exactly what I wanted. I put some hands on the body last night, but today I remembered both my Zaoll girls are using Delf hands so I'm totally putting the Zaoll hands on her tonight. The fit of the head isn't great, I'm hoping it will improve with a neck piece (I put a WTB up already - F60 or Delf) but for now with a larger S-hook, it's fine. I really wish she had a faceup, I would love to use her for the next photo challenge!! It'll just have to be Sage.

This means Gabriel is being put on hold until I either sell something or by some miracle get a head I want in a trade. Still between Elfdoll Vivien and Supia Ariel on probably the Loongsoul 63cm body. Leaning toward Ariel just for easy access.

Got a trade offer for my Bory, tomorrow I ship him off and prepare for a Minifee Celine boy in tan. Since I've never owned a tan MNF or a Celine, I'm excited....even though it's another mnf boy body XDD at least it's not the muscle version! 5th time is the charm...right? I'm pretty sure he's going to move in with Mocha's group, and become a paparazzi deer. Yeah. Also figured out the MNF Soony/Unoa, I think. Panda techno geek. I have wanted a Panda themed doll since about 2009. Still needs a name. I'll think of something.

Sadly, I'm probably putting my Peakswoods Wake Up Goldie up for sale after this weekend. I've thought about it and with my other Goldie, Kimi (who is my goth girl), Sage and this new Soony....I don't feel as though I need her, and it's not like I've done anything at all with her in the last year or more. It's depressing, she was a dream doll of mine, but she's not really....doing it for me in my collection. I'm probably going to have to take a huge loss on her as she was not cheap, but they're just not selling well right now. I'm going to miss her vampire bite. But it's not like that mattered to her character in any way. I think I'll be better off moving her on.

Still have a lot of stuff on order that has yet to ship, but for right now no trades floating around! Tomorrow that will change XD

This is the Rosy Brown UV. Everyone was right in saying it's not like most environmental resin....I'm happy I went with it. It's a great color. Looks pretty much like this in person XD I'm already considering a next and final one - one of these guys in Sweet Green to be a Frankenstein since I've got a vampire and werewolf. Must have all movie monsters!! ALL OF THEM!! And they are about to release some in a sheep skin. That I think my Sandman needs so he can be his own sheep! It never ends.....

Quick Update - Wolf Cub Arrival!

I'll see about posting pictures soon, but I'm excited and can't wait:

My Withdoll Werewolf Coco finally arrived today! It sat in customs forever. Since Thursday. I had to run out at lunch today to pick him up. I found my front tire flat (thank you cold weather) and all my tires were low, so I ran around like a crazy person until I found a gas station with air. Half my lunch later I was able to run by the house and grab the boxes.

I unboxed him and started putting on the wolfy parts - accidentally unstringing him in the process. I found some dental floss and was able to get him back together....now I know something else that needs to be added to my doll-kit! It worked great. The fur skin didn't want to go over one claw, so I took it off and used the floss again to pull his arm through and get the claw back on XD Yay floss!!

Lunch was over then - I had to eat while I worked - so no pictures or anything. From the little handling I've done so far I just love him. Not only is he totally adorbes but seems to be very high-quality. Sturdy joints, well made, the color (Rosy Brown UV) is just gorgeous and he's not translucent at all, only the very tips of his little claws....which is kind of realistic and cool.

He sits and stands well, the wolf skin is the best thing ever, and if I glue the magnets to his head cap (which is what I've been doing for ears lately) it'll hold on his wig and all will be well. I only regret not having eyes for him yet....I'll have to look at what I've got but I'm not confident. The eye box is running low. They sent brown acrylics, so he at least has eyes (and for some reason I had a lump of eye putty on my desk, or he wouldn't have them in XD ) but brown isn't the color I wanted - red, yellow or blue. I don't know which yet, but one of those. I can't wait to play with him!! I'll try and grab some pictures tomorrow.

So I think I'm going to order a head this weekend that will be (hopefully) Gabriel. I looked at Supia the other day and Ariel is perfect. She kind of resembles Rian, and Vivien and even Olea (who all have a similar look IMO), only she's actually got an open mouth and is available to buy now as opposed to impossible to get like Vivien. the tiny bit of research I've managed to do revealed that her neck is the same as the neck on the Loongsoul 63cm body, which is the body I am looking to get for her...so hopefully that'll work.

I am also contemplating ordering a Little Rebel Tenten head when the preorder starts....just because I've always wanted one of her dolls, and Tenten is my favorite. Because Teeth. I dunno. I've never ordered a doll just because before - with no idea whatsoever of what I'll do with it....so it might not happen. But I'd really like one. Like I need another floating head :\

Stuff I'm waiting on
F60 Soony Elf is on the way. This head has a character all ready for it, I just need....everything. Wig, eyes, body.....yeah. But it's going to be Sage's best friend (Sage will be next weeks challenge doll - I'm always excited about her character) and my second half-elf. This one is half elf, half dwarf. I'd like a chubby, short body for it, but I don't think that exists....oh well.

Dollmore: Clothes, parts, another Fine head and a DMK body

Alice Collections: Sherlock and Khan clothing and a really expensive outfit for Ryuji cause he never gets anything ever. Alex got a pair of shoes because I swear I can't buy things without buying for him too. >.<

Etsy: Monstro and Cyristine Creations clothes ordered for Little Wyn (and Mini Alex), and the Benedict Cumberbatch head....none of which have shipped.

Other stuff
The shirts I ordered from MOC for Metatron and his two future alter-egos fit beautifully. It makes me more confident to order clothes for him now (hence the giant AC order). I also ordered Alex one shirt. He's wearing it now.

Ryuji's new body - the new Soom Super Gem - showed up. I had some issues stringing it, but figured it out and he's good to go. It's way whiter than he is, and his faceup makes him darker still! So he need to be redone. And he's a big chunk now lol it's like he shrunk and put on weight!! It's ok though, he fits in pretty much everything, including the jacket made for him when he was an El which didn't fit him on the Popo body. So YAY!

Jean Grey/Phoenix: Luts Delf Claus

Jean was, as usual, a fantastic model for this shoot. Other than her wig being a mess (unlike Alex's wig it's not my fault since I didn't make it lol), most of my shots really turned out...just how I wanted them too! This was my favorite but only by a tiny bit.

I realize this is a little weird - and if you know nothing at all about Marvel's X-Men and the Phoenix Force...I apologize for the absolute nonsense you're about to read. For that matter, if you do know about them it will probably still be nonsense! And to make it worse, I wrote it in the way I write my comic scripts so everything is broken weird - in my defense I plan on making it a photo story late....but it's still kinda strange. So...good luck! XD

The beginning again.

For a long time, there was nothing.

The warmth came first, and with it, sensation. The darkness splintered apart and reveled light, pure, white light, and from it the warmth poured.

Soon she became aware.

Not of herself, not at first, but the feelings surrounding her.  Need. Love. Desire. Hope.

Her eyes opened and she could see. Fire. It burned. It was beautiful.

No.

She pushed away, not ready, but it pulled at her like the strongest of magnets, and she couldn’t ignore it forever.

Stop.

Warmth. Light. Fire. Love. It called to her, and finally she reached out, desperate to connect. The fire reached back and she pulled away, suddenly afraid. She still wasn’t ready. But it was tired of waiting and it took her.

She was pulled into the hot, white light, and began to remember. Broken pieces coming together, creation starting over and again. Back together, the way it should be. She remembered living. Laughing, crying, loving, his smile, heartache, fun, family hunger, betrayal, screaming. Millions, billions of screams in unison.

Desire.

Stop, she begged, still resisting. I’m not ready. I’m not finished.

It isn’t time.

Yet the white grew brighter, and the fire spoke to her in a voice she knew.

Yes. Time. To be born, to become. Time to burn. You cannot stop.  This is how it begins. How we begin.

I am not you, she cried, trying one last time to fight.

We are. You are. Forever one, and you will remember.

I remember how you destroy and she ached for the lives lost.

We create. All you love is lost and we will start again. 

The voice was hers. It was hers and it wasn't but it was beautiful and it was warm and she gave in with the promise of new love and new life.

Yes! She forgot why she fought and let the fire take her. It burned but it was right, and it pushed through her cells, making her herself again, fire in her heart, shivering along her skin and in her very breath.

Soon the fire was not with her, it was her. She was whole. She held it, inside and out and the white room was no longer her home but her prison.

Then the walls cracked apart, and there was the universe, whole, unbroken and ready.

I am fire.

I am life incarnate.

I will burn away what doesn’t work.

Forever.

To sorta clarify what you just read (if you read itlol), this is the Phoenix Force, bringing Jean Grey back to life yet again. She's technically dead currently, in Marvel continuity (again), and they have yet to resurrect her (stupid Marvel!!) so I did it for them! 

If I were ever to write any of my X-Men fanfic staring my AU Phoenix and Gambit, this, or something similar would be the prologue. Or the first part of the prologue, which would end with the Phoenix crashing back to earth and Jean waking up as a man and tossed into an asylum XD wheee!

Week 1 - Origin

Sorry for the double-post, but I got his finished and wanted to post so I can move on to the next one. This is going to be long, but first a few things. Alex's hair is horrible in this photo. This is why I've spent three days working on it. He's also the only one actually standing in this photo - Isis is on a stand, David is leaning on her and Alex tried to fall every time the wind blew XD

This is supposed to represent the "origin" of both my comic and the characters (they were the first three, and the main characters of the story (along with Uriel)). The writing is supposed to be the first time Alex and David meet Isis. I had to write it a bunch of times before I liked it....the first one was only half done and 7 pages D: Also I'm not a writer and I rarely share what I write (Fiction....this blog totally doesn't count.) so don't make fun, or point out all the errors or anything ok thanks bye.

“If you say anything, it could be bad. For you I mean. I don’t really care what you do.“

Daylight Officer Isis Rhodes had been sitting alone at a table in the small cafeteria, eating a salad when I found her. Well, she was poking at it with a fork. She hadn’t actually taken a bite that I saw since I walked in and sat down in the chair next to her. I’d stared at her for a full minute before she finally noticed me, and had almost fallen out of her chair. At least I didn’t laugh.

She was having a bad night. Shortly after returning from her shift, she’d pulled her gun on a total stranger - a completely innocent stranger, I might add - who just happened to be standing there doing nothing at all, or who was possibly staring at her boobs. And who also happened to be me. Now she was facing the tough choice of losing her job, or accepting a promotion that wasn’t really a promotion at all, but a creative punishment. The job change would mean working the Night Shift, and doing the most shit jobs there were. But at least she’d have a job.

Or she could tell people why she decided to try and shoot me, and get fired. And it wasn’t because I was staring at her boobs, I swear. At least, I don’t think that was it.

“What…I can’t….what? Why are you even here?” She stumbled over her words, still not over the events of the past couple of hours. Or, it was the shock of my sudden presence. One of the two. “You’re not…? Oh god you’re not going too—“

I glared at her. “No! I’m not going to bite you! Not here anyway. And you’re not my type. At all. So there.” Which was probably the biggest lie I’ve ever told in my life. She totally was my type. My type being female, and in front of me.

“I’m looking for cake, stop changing the subject.”

“Cake?! There’s no cake! And how am I not your type?! What is ….I can’t ...even!” She looked away from me and let out a frustrated breath. “Just…get away from me, you….thing. “

“Thing?” As far as insults go, that was about as pathetic as they got. I’ve said worse in my sleep. “Well now I’m hurt,” I said rolling my eyes.  “We just met! How can you be so mean?”

“Oh! Just shut up!” She made a move to leave. “I can’t sit here and listen to you threaten me and, and, stuff.”

To stop her, I did something I don’t normally do. I grabbed her wrist. Luckily I was sort of wearing gloves, and she had long sleeves on, or it could have gone bad.

“You’re going now, aren’t you?”

“Let go of me!” She hissed, unsuccessfully trying to pull away.

“To talk to your supervisor,” I continued as if she hadn’t spoken. “Tonner is in there with him right now… and he’s only your supervisor for a while longer.” I hadn’t really meant to say that, it sort of slipped out. That happened sometimes.

“How….how did you know that.” She relaxed and knowing she wasn’t going to run off, I let her go. “And how did you know I was going up there to…talk.”

“I know everything,” I shrugged and looked away. “If you tell him, it won’t go well. He won’t believe you.”

She laughed. “And you just happen to know that? Because you’re psychic? That’s why she hired you isn’t it, John?” Who the fuck is John? Oh right, me. I hate fake names.

“It’s Alex,” I told her, frowning. She didn’t seem to notice I'd even said anything.

“Captain Tonner? You’re her pet psychic, right? What bullshit! Vampires can’t be psychic!” She brandished her plastic fork at me like a weapon.

Yeah. That’s why she tried to shoot me. She thought I was a vampire. Just because she was right didn’t mean I had to be happy about it.

“Besides,” she continued, “he’ll have no choice to believe me. You look like a vampire, with your pale skin, and black clothes!” Now that’s not really fair. People can be pale. And what does everyone have against my clothes anyway?

“Once they really look at you it’ll be obvious you’re dead! You don’t have a heartbeat!”

“Something you would think would have come up during my physical.”

Her face went blank as she was suddenly derailed.  “Your what?”

“You know, that thing where you go visit the Precinct Medic and she says ‘You don’t have any infectious diseases! Go you!’ Or at least in my case ‘You’re not dead!’ and clears you for work.”

“But…how….”

“Well, I’d tell you, but you’d just think it was ‘bullshit’.”

“It’s not possible…”

“Yeah, I know. But I am the exception to all rules, Isis. You should know that upfront, if we’re going to work together.”

“Officer Rhodes,” she growled.

“Right. For about, another hour. Then it’s Detective Rhodes. Congratulations by the way. Though I hear it doesn’t come with a pay raise.”

I thought she might hyperventilate which, of all things, actually made feel a little sympathetic. Fortunately I can ignore such feelings easily.

“So there you go. You can talk all you want, tell the whole world, and see if I care. Nothing will happen. Oh, other than you getting fired, losing everything and probably ending up locked up for life. “

She looked up at me. “What? Why would they lock me up? That’s ridiculous. And someone would believe eventually. You can’t possibly be that good.”

“Maybe not.” I am. “But if you say anything,” I paused. Drama can be fun.

“I might accidentally let it slip that you’re a witch.”

The fork slid from her grip and fell to the floor with a hollow clink. Her face drained of all color and her thoughts just…stopped.

“How. How could you know that?” Her voice was barely a whisper. We were both really lucky that only the kitchen staff was there this late, and they were in the back somewhere, because none of them were present for this conversation.

“What part of ‘I know everything’ did you not get? First, psychic. Also, vampire. I could tell the same way you could. The second I saw you.”

“Oh god….”

“So,” I went on, “unlicensed, unregistered, practicing witch working for the police? That’s not going to go over well, is it? You know what they’ll do, don’t you?”

She shook her head, though to what, I don’t know. “I’m…I’m not practicing.”

“Don’t lie to me. It’s insulting,” I spat.

“They’ll put you in the Hole. That’s a thing, you know. It’s not a rumor they started to keep practitioners in line. They’ll send a Bug Catcher after you and you’ll disappear into that dark, underground room, surrounded by enchantments, so you can never escape. That is, if you’re even good enough to try.”

Trembling, she put her hand over her mouth.

“Or,” I continued considerably more cheerful than she was, “You can show up for work on Monday with your shiny new detectives badge, and watch me do fun things like stare at paperwork, pick people out of lineups and break Detective Dana’s nose. Though I doubt he’ll ever touch me again after the first time, so that that last one might not have a repeat performance, sorry.“

She sat so still and was so quiet for a while that I kind of wondered if I’d broken her. I touched her thoughts, just barely, to see if they were even there.

Ok. Maybe I should poke her or something. If only I had a stick.

I was still trying to decide what I should do in the off chance she suddenly started ranting or drooling when she spoke quietly.

“So that’s it. You’re just going to blackmail me…with my life,” She said, misery and defeat in every word, and her posture.

I supposed I could afford to be nice, since I’d just won the fight, if you could even call it that. I don’t really understand nice, but I thought I’d give it a try. How hard could it be?

“Don’t think of it as blackmail,” I said, in what I hoped was a helpful voice. “Think of it as ….two friends doing each other a favor.”

“We are not friends!” She yelled. I guess anger is better than... well it’s not better, but it’s something.

“Co-workers then,” I said with bored shrug. I was done with this conversation; it was past time to move on. “Why don’t they have cake here anyway? There aren’t even any donuts! I thought cops ate donuts at like, every meal? I have yet to find any. And I’ve looked.”

Isis sat back in her chair, staring blankly forward. “Oh my god. This is my life now.”

“Yes,” I snapped, “get used too it. One long, cakeless fuckup, working with vampires.”

“Vampires?” She asked giving me a confused look. "As in more than one?"

“Well what the fuck did you think David was? A pixie? A werewolf? He’s not that hairy.”

“Who’s David?”

Shit. Stupid, fucking fake names. Fuck!

“I meant Joseph. That’s what I said isn’t it? Joe? Right? I don’t even know a David. Who is David?”

Before Isis could answer, David actually walked though the cafeteria door, as if I’d summoned him with my stupidity.

“Hey, did you eat?” He suddenly realized Isis was sitting there, and tried to turn on his charm.

“Oh, hi Isis. I’m sorry, I meant Officer Rhodes.” He’s so polite I often want to puke. I glowered at nothing while he spoke over my head. “I really hope there are no hard feelings over…what happened. I look forward to working with you.” He didn’t go so far as to hold out his hand or anything, but I still gagged a little inside, while Isis did a very good impression of a deer sitting in the headlights of a speeding bus.

No one spoke for a very long, very awkward pause. Finally David gave in.

“Right. So why didn’t you eat?” He asked me.

“Because this stupid fucking place has no cake!” I stood up and shoved my chair back so hard it hit the table behind us. “Can we go home now? Jesse probably made me cake.”

David looked back at Isis who was looking more and more terrified. The funny thing was, the fact that we were vampires no longer scared her as much as the realization that she would be seeing us every day, for the rest of her life. Forever. Heh heh.

“I’m sorry,” David apologized again. “He has…. low blood sugar. It makes him irritated. I glared at both of them. It happens….often.”

Isis couldn’t seem to find words and just sat there staring at nothing.

“You haven’t seen me irritated yet,” I snapped. “Lets go! I’m done here.” I started to leave, knowing David would have no choice but to follow. He gave a frustrated and long-suffering sigh that he usually reserved for me. I heard it a lot.

“It was nice meeting you, he said to her, still trying to be nice. I guess we’ll see you around.” He turned to go, but paused, looking back. “Oh, and congratulations on making Detective!”

I looked over my shoulder as we left. She had dropped her head into her hands and was sitting miserable and alone with her wilted salad. I wasn’t sure how we would ever get along, but least she was hot. She’d be a lot more fun to look at on a daily basis than Detective Bruce Dana, who was like a brick wall that had turned into a man, and then got his nose broken by….someone, so he was all bruised and disfigured. 

I could work with her.

2015 Doll-a-Week Creative Challenge

So I posted this on Flickr, but I will really be doing it here, so I figure I should a quick intro post first.

I stole this from Snowgray, she posted it on her Flickr.....basically the goal is to take a photo relating somehow to the word, then write something to go with, about the character(s). Which is why I'm calling it the creative challenge, instead of just photo challenge. The photo part was intriguing enough, but the writing part made me really want to try this too, as I failed Nano again. I might be able to get something out of this, then be able to do better come November. Plus, better photos was a 2015 goal of mine anyway! Two birds, one stick. Or stone. Or whatever.

Here's my list. It's the same as the one I stole from Snow, but I changed a few words...because I knew that if I hit those and was stuck or uninspired I'd get totally derailed and quit. I did a random word generator and got a bunch of new words and replaced as I felt necessary....

I'll be posting the photos on Flickr obviously, but both the photo and the writing part I'll leave here.

I actually have the first photo ready to go, but I'm working on the writing. In typical me fashion, it got away from me a little (it's already like, four pages long). I'm hoping to post it tonight, but it may be tomorrow....

I really hope I can keep this up. Encouragement may be needed.

Doll News
I used my shiny new 100 pts from Dollmore, the money I got from sales and ordered a DMK body - which is going to end up being for Vanilla as Mini-Wyn stole his body permanently. I compared both heads with the old and brand new parts from Dollmore, and Vanilla is closer to the new, while Wyn is closer to the old, so he stayed on the old, modded body (which I find funny as big Wyn is also gender-modded), with all the old parts, and Vanilla is waiting on his brand new body :)
I also ordered some clothes, shoes and another Fine head as planned. -- they actually emailed me last night - as it goes with me and Dollmore, they have the body, head and all the parts I ordered in stock...but two dresses are out of stock XDDDD So it won't ship until sometime next week. Which is STILL a super-short wait, so who cares!

I made my MOC order - if those shirts fit Metatron I plan on doing an Alice order next! Fingers crossed!!

AND BIGGEST OF ALL Today Withdoll sent me a shipping notice! Sterek will be on his way home!! :D

Unoa Butt-tabs are my Nemesis.

I'm not kidding. I think they exist in the world simply to annoy the shit out of me. Other than that they serve no function at all!! URG! They have to go.

Saturday the package containing a Unoa body and Fairyland MNF Juri 14 head arrived at my door!

It was in the exact condition that was specified - perfect other than one thing.

The previous owner lost one of it's arms XD
She was able to buy a new set of arms, but they're in a different color than the body (I'm guessing it's Fairy skin - I'm almost positive the body is the same old normal Macchi is.), so right now it has one WS arm and one NS arm. Honestly I barely notice it...though I've kept the thing clothed the whole time lol

I ended up with it in a trade - several faceups, and a few future faceups for the body, three arms, the Juri head and the Unoa head back (which for me was a happy surprise, I didn't realize that was part of the equation).

I had very little free time over the weekend, but I managed to string it up, and wrestle the Soony head onto the body so it had one whilst I decide what to do with it. Because I really have no idea. None. I tried on all the fur wigs I have that even kind of fit, I've dressed it in several outfits, tried a bunch of eyes in it....I got nuthin. I don't even know if I want it to be a boy or a girl. Boys fit in with my group better, but up until now it looked like a girl to me, even dressed as a boy....and the body is a girl body. So everything is up in the air still, and for once, I am really stumped.

What I've got so far:

This was the first look - at the Holiday meet over the weekend. It sat at the Festivus (Sp??) table and aired a grievance. Which is what I'm told one does!

 

Next was this - I was still trying to make black hair work - but this wig just doesn't fit no matter what I do. This did nothing for me...But, Elf ears!!

   

Currently we're here, which is the look that inspired me the most so far...

 

Crooked glasses are crooked. I dunno. Still a work in progress....maybe a faceup will help (but it's really cold and I have no time). Lol the poor thing. No part of it matches any other part of it XD But I kind of love it for it's patheticness. And the proportions.

I have several options to play with here, when it comes to this thing's identity.
1. Soony stays on this body and becomes a boy (it has no chest, so it can work).

2. Soony stays on this body and becomes a girl...since it is a girl

3. Soony goes to a new, undetermined body and the headback that came with it goes to this one, and I have a second Unoa to do whatever with, and will be....either a boy or a girl and any mold. Omg. The options D:

4. Unoa headback becomes a hybrid, something I've wanted to do many times, for many years. I'm thinking either Dollmore Kid or Doll Chateau. And i have no idea what faceplate, other than it won't be L-Bi.

Then I have to decide what storyline it gets worked into. Forgotten Children (or Alex's world), or Mocha's world (tentatively called Star of Fate...because that's the song I was listening too when I thought of it) - as those are the two Mature Mini "worlds" I have split my minis into (which don't count the three that exist in the 1/3 FC universe).

Since I have given the poor thing several looks in the barely 4 days I've had it, and nothing is coming to mind, I decided today to start with a name. Since I don't know if it's a boy or girl or what universe it exists in yet, I have two separate name groups.

The FC storyline - Gender ambiguous names (like Sage and Rowan lol) since who knows what it is:

Winter (my favorite)

The SOF storyline - already gender ambiguous:
Cinnamon Dulce (back for round two! Ha ha!)

Or, seriously a combo of any/all of these. Pumpkin Hazelnut Praline would be awesome XD

I figure if I can get it a name I'll eventually come up with a character and be able to figure out look and everything else eventually. Chances are it'll end up with Mocha and the rest - I can't think of anyone in FC who needs to be a doll and isn't atm. And I really don't need to be adding more characters.

In other crazy news, regardless of what body this Soony head ends up on, I want the MNF neck piece for it, for the easy. Right now the poor thing is filled with hot glue, and held on by a metal bar that used to hold a Zaoll head back on. It's a mess (but works!). I went to go put a WTB up for the part, and the very first post in the MP was for a neck key!! Of all the things. Fastest transaction ever, later, I have one on the way already. Amazing luck!! Which I need more of....the seller I bought the KDF Yul head from has disappeared....so I am worried. It's only been a couple days, but her communication was really good until I paid. Now she's not answering me and I never got a tracking # like she promised.

The eyes I got in the trade for the Volks body came in yesterday however, and they're just gorgeous! So that's one more good thing to outweigh the (potential) bad?.

And random fist-bumps from total strangers are awesome. Just sayin.

Whelp, as usual, I have fallen behind.

Last week was Thanksgiving holiday here in the states, and I spent the day at my Mom's, with her and my Uncle. We referred to it as her "First" Thanksgiving, as she's been retired since early this year, and she used to work every single holiday for years and years. It's been forever since I celebrated a Thanksgiving with her on the actual day. I dragged some dolls over, so there are pics. Sorta. lol Her lighting is worse than mine!

Newly added today (so no DOA thread yet) is Ryuji's Popodoll 68cm body. I have decided it's going. Someday I'll find him a shorter one to live on - 65cm should be adequate enough. Hopefully something without a hip joint as I have decided they are the devil. NO MORE. Unless they either don't move, like FL, or move well, like Dollstown.

As usual, I will consider offers on all, and I will always consider trades. Especially for bodies. Holy crap please. I have somehow ended up with about a million floating heads this year D:

I will soon be in possession of a Minifee Juri 14 - or the Elf Soony. Which is way yay! As I was not interested in that sculpt at all until it had elf ears. Elf ears make everything fun. I want all the elf ears. No idea who he or she will be or what freaking body it will reside on (probably not MNF).

I got it with a Unoa body in need of a little TLC (more to come on that) in a trade for faceup work (cause, TRADES!!! :D ) and I am crossing my fingers for a Saturday delivery. I have a dollmeet Sunday, I'd like to tote it along to check out bodies if at all possible. 

Also nearly on the way (lots of yays here) the Luts Yul Satyresse head!! 

Someone finally contacted me with the head, unfortunately it was off for a very expensive faceup. I was going to decline the sale -- it was just way more than I wanted to pay -- but when she sent photos of the faceup....I couldn't do it >.<

It's on layaway now, I'll be paying it off tomorrow and hopefully the real Little Wynners will be on the way soon! To find that he has no body waiting for him. Boo. 

To make things worse, I'm not sure I want to sell the "temporary wyn" head I bought. It's cute, and I modded it....so it may stick around. Maybe it can be Soony's friend. XD

Withdoll is selling the Macaron dolls again. Which is killing me. I really wish they'd waited until next year. I would love a Sweet Green one (Teeny Frankenstein!) but I just can't order from them again until I see my first one....and he's not even close to shipping I'm afraid. Plus I don't want to spend even more money on dolls this close to the holidays. 

As of today my Volks MSD body is on the way out the door. I will be receiving 3 pairs of urethane eyes I'm excited about (Gumdrops and Makoeyes) in her place.

Speaking of urethanes, I ordered two pairs of eyes from Candy Kitten on Etsy for my El. Two pairs came this week....but one was not the pair I ordered. I contacted her but didn't hear back for a couple days....so I did it again yesterday honestly thinking that maybe the first message didn't work -- I can't find where I sent it. So hopefully she'll respond to the next message. I guess I'll have to contact Etsy if I continue to hear nothing. In the meantime I'm not using either pair of eyes in case I have to send them back.....which sucks. They're nice-looking eyes too....I would order from her again, but after this mess I'm thinking not. 

Other than that, most of my crew (ok not most, but several) are dressed for the Holiday meet this weekend in their Christmas themed attire - Alex is of course wearing a robe. Since he'll be nearly naked as usual XD 

This years "outfit" is so funny I laugh thinking about it. I just wish I had better shoes for him. He may have to borrow Azrael's feet this weekend....which will be really funny if he has to take his shoes off.

Alex III is wearing this. I am so fucking happy. He looks like that!!! Even the wtf string around his neck! It's awesome.

Because everyone is in Christmas garb I have had Macchi and Ren (ha ha!! Laches has a name now!!) to keep me company. Ren has found a hat and boots so he's even cuter than ever, but I forgot I was going to photograph him at lunch so no pictures.

The newly-named Ren on the Lati Yellow body he stole from Lea (the grey-haired one now on the SP body. She's not staying - I'm gifting her away for Christmas...). The color is way off, and I was a little afeard I wouldn't care for him on the smaller body but aoiehfawehro;ytiohweryweiryoiheg I love it!!! LOVE IT!! He's so freaking cute he kills me. His cute rivals baby Alex (not quite, but a little) in my eyes.

There's a few more on my Flickr, but I won't overspam. None of them are great anyway. I will say I am highly enjoying my second try at this Lati Yellow size. It's actually depressing - give me monsters and I'm happy XD

Something more creative and cute I get bored....oh wells. I hope WD ships out the werewolves soon. I need a Sterek to play with my other boys! And wear some of the clothes! I have clothes!! The others aren't changing D:
