Stuff Goin's On

Hmm, I've been putting off writing until I have something interesting, but I still don't. So there is this.

Today I registered for Dollism.

YAY! I'm so excited, I really can't wait for this! First, I love more than anything a chance to meet doll people in person. Especially if I know them via nets. I've only been to a couple conventions, so the chance to go to a different one is so exciting!

Plus, vendors!! :D DOLLMORE WILL BE THERE!!! :D :D

How am I going to get all my Dollmore dolls on a plane?!?!?! lol Ok, not all of them can go.

Ok, probably not that either. But I can try >:D

The bad news is, in order to afford to go, what with plane, hotel and buying stuffs there, I can't spend any money all year. Seriously.

So, no new dolls for while. Or clothes, or comics or anything. MUST. MAKE. DUE. with what I have. Or get it in a trade.

Hey, speaking of trades:
I have a Dearmine body on the way from a trade! This is good, because way back in 09 I got two little Zuzu Delf minis I was going to do up as my two cats, Rocky and Buzz. It never happened, and Buzz sadly passed away a few years ago (Rocky is still going strong). I got a new body for the Buzz head, and it's just been sitting around doing nothing...

The Dearmine body will probably go to Buzz, as he was the bigger, fatty of the two. Rocky is big, but skin and bones (as he's always been -- nervousness burns off fat), so he'll get the smaller body I already have. There may need to be mods, and the Dearmine body is coming without a tail, so that will have to be remedied, but I think I can make this work, meaning my two longest floating heads will finally be dolls!

And now I have to find a third cat for Gozer. She can't be left out. She's a tiny thing too, so I don't know what I'll get for her.

Before my self-imposed ban on buying stuff, I grabbed a Hujoo bunny in grey from Junkyspot. Who knows when it'll get here, but after that, and the Littlefee I have on layaway and my Mirodoll body gets in, I'm really hoping to see a stop in incoming resin.

Unless Thomas sells. Then I'm getting a Dollstown body for Tween. That's it. The rest can go to Dollism funds!!

I need something somewhere to not be about my "stolen doll" saga, so I'm making a new post here finally!!!

So what's been going on lately?

New dolls
I did get the Unoa L-Bi finally (in case you missed the update). He showed up yesterday (Jan 21) and I've been messing with him as much as I can -- which isn't much. I wasn't home last night, and I don't have the materials I want for him (basically everything --> wig, eyes, clothes, parts, faceup) so he's all temporary right now. BUT despite all the drama and mess, he is my first official doll of 2014! :D

My intention is to make him into a sparkly unicorn. So I need to get him some sort of floppy ears, a horn, wings...tail. The works. Originally he was going to be a stand-alone in my collection, but since I sold/traded my MNF Karsh, poor Mocha is all alone again, and I accidentally came up with a small story that puts him together with Unicorn Boy and a hopefully future MNF Shiwoo (yes, I enjoy self-punishment), again to be Soshi, only a revamped version.

I think the three of them will work nicely together, and I don't have to worry about fitting them in with my other dolls :)

It is a little weird for me, I never rework already established characters this much, but both Soshi (my former and future MNF Shiwoo) and Mocha's (RS Song) characters only came about because of the dolls, so I'm not too hung up on it.

Incoming
Because of a layaway I was doing (as a seller), I managed to save enough for a down payment on the FL LTF Rose Steam Bunny! And I ordered her a week before they sold out!! Which is awesome, because I was going to wait until I had more money stashed away, if I'd done that I would have missed out!!

Rose is going to pull dual duty in my group, alternately being a bunny with the rest of my YO sized dolls, and also acting as a boy -- Shogo, Jubilee's adopted son in my X-men group.

Speaking of X-Men, I ordered Wolverine his body!! And got him some jointed hands off the MP! And some black fur for a wig! I'm so excited...everything I've been told or found out on my own leads me to think that yes, the DZ Cosmo head I'm so set on will fit the Miro 60cm just fine, and while I may have to mod it to work, the 70cm hands should too (cause he needs big hands!!). I can't wait to get him together lol it's killing me!!

Future
And while lurking in the Mirodoll threads I found out they sell a blue that is perfect for Mystique! So once I figure out what head I want to use (or they come out with a new one), I will be ordering a girl for her character. I've kind of decided against Storm, since finding a perfect blue for Mystique, I think she will fit in so much better, since I like the odd grouping I've got going so far. The weirder the better. I'll stop with her, unless I get another random trade. I have a few more characters in my mental "waiting room" so if that happens I'm ready!

I might be a little excited.

I have wanted a Dollpire Kid forever but never got one because when they come out I don't have the money!! And I know DM does layaway but I've never done one with them...but I am a pro when it comes to DDE lol. So later this year I will be ordering a Dollpire....I kind of want to wait a month or two to see if they release any new ones because the only WS Shiloh (and Shiloh is the one I like the most) they have is way more than I want to pay, and while I am intrigued by the blue skin, I have a feeling I really want white.  I'll go blue if I have too though ;)

It's been a while since I've gotten a Dollmore doll, I'm going through withdraw XD

Other stuff 'n'projects
I'm working on making more wigs. I'm trying out a full dread-wig, using yarn, I want to use the same technique to make a short wig with fur cut off the material, and I want to buy some angora to make wigs out of that. I've started already, but all I've managed (damn time -- I have none) is the wigcap.

I wiped Wyn's (B&G Sapphira) faceup and cut the hell out of one of his wigs so he can maybe get the new look I've been promising him. Now he's blank and naked on my table next to Alex II who is my wig model.

My Volks Midori went through another character change: I was working on chapter three of FC and decided I needed yet another new character. While sketching her, I actually thought "Crap, I hope I won't want to make her into a doll..." and then "Omg, Midori would be perfect!!"

So no Ghost character for me, still. It's better this way as there are several dolls I would rather have as a ghost, and Midori being NS was a huge inspiration block for me. I actually started doing the faceup work on her and couldn't...leaving her body hanging around naked and her head on shelf for days.

Her new character is an angel again -- her name is Muriel and she's the angel emotion (her nickname is Chibi) and the attendant of Gabriel -- so again, poor Midori is paired up with a 70cm doll XDDD
though I'd like to get Gabriel a shorter body someday. She got a new wig yesterday and I cut it to the length I wanted (I might go a little shorter still) so all she needs is a faceup and she's good to go! I'm happy with her this time around...Every time I look at her cute little face I don't want to sell her but she was so pointless in my collection! Now she works, and I have another angel.

With my putting Thomas up for sale I barely have any vampires left (maybe I need to be AngelVampire13.  :\\\\  No.) and my angels just keep multiplying!!

I think that's it *nodnod*. It's a lot, but I haven't been able to update in forever!!! Drama sucks. I'm done with it lol.

UPDATE: Resolved

January 21: The Unoa L-Bi I had traded for arrived today. It was shipped Saturday Jan 18 -- though I have still received no contact whatsoever from RockScientist/Suuchan.

I have not gotten it yet, but my roommate unpacked it and said it's fine.

I can't even say how happy I am that this is over.

I need to thank the BJD community...

I am so grateful for all the help. The tips, advice, information and support was so appreciated, I can't even say thanks enough.

I am considering this trade finished/resolved, though unsatisfactory. I would not ever do business with this person again.

EDIT: I now know that she has been on DOA (She is Suuchan there) Jan 3,  and Den of Demons Saturday Jan 11 (she is Suuchan there as well), which is narrowing down the possibility that something happened too her to make her disappear. If she can log on elsewhere she can message me back.

I have reposted this on DOA, Dairyland, my old LJ, the Bad Dolly Deals on LJ, Deviantart and my local yahoo group.

I have pmed her on DOA, and I have emailed her.

Thanks to helpful community members I will be filing a report with the IC3.

I have her facebook page and Aim.

I am not ready to post her full name yet...I'm still hoping she'll do the right thing and send the doll back or at least finish the trade.

If anyone feels like reposting this anywhere, feel free. I would love to have it everywhere it can be. Anymore info about her is also appreciated.

So it really looks like my doll was stolen.

I kept holding out hope that it would come back to me after not being claimed, but no. It was delivered after all....

Here's the story:
Dec 29 I made a deal for a trade with a member of the MidWest USA doll forum Dairyland who goes by the name of RockScientist. I would send her my Switch Taeheo head on a Souldoll double body and she would send her Unoa L-Bi. She had good feedback, had done several other trades for dolls (including the doll she was offering to me) and it really looked like there shouldn't be a problem.

I sent the doll off as planned and messaged her to let her know.

Nothing.

I didn't hear from her, I didn't get a doll in the mail, she hasn't even logged back onto Dairyland.

The Switch Taeheo was attempted to be delivered on Saturday, Jan 4, and a notice was left. It sat there until yesterday when it was finally claimed.

I still have no doll in return, and have still heard nothing. I pmed her, but if she's not logging on she's not getting it, and even if she is, if she's stolen my doll she isn't going to care.

I've done numerous google searches for this person and turned up next to nothing on her, like, she's not even a member on ANYTHING else on the entire internet. All I've found is that she does live at her address with another relative who could be a father or husband. I can't get in contact with her at all...

The switch head in question has no identifying marks at all, i had given it a faceup but wiped it when I put the doll up for sale. It does have faceup residue in the mouth and eyes, but what head doesn't? It was shipped in the head box with COA and a pair of Dollmore Acrylic eyes in an olive green color. There was a black fur wig I had made for it a long with.....trimmed in the back.
I was storing the broken finger in it's head, if she never removed it, it may still be there, but I seriously doubt it.

The Souldoll body may be a little easier to identify -- it has a broken pinky finger on the right hand, a full body blush by me, mani-pedi, and the symbol for the angel Uriel on it's back (because it was his body first). I shipped the doll unstrung. Souldoll does not sell extra hands, so the finger will either have to be glued on, or left off.

The doll was sent to League City Texas.

I am still holding out the hope that there was an accident or emergency and somehow this will be resolved,

but the more time that passes the less hope I have...

If not, and it turns out this doll was stolen, I'm asking the BJD community to please be aware of any such dolls in the area, or being sold in this area. I don't believe this person is a member of DOA so I can't really post this there, or do a bad transaction thread.

Dairyland has the policy that members should work things out on their own (no paging threads), but since this person won't log on to the site (if she's run off with my doll, why the hell would she?), I can't do much.

Basically I can't do anything.

This really sucks. I have done so many trades in this hobby and had nothing go wrong....now this.

Like I said, I am still holding out hope that this was somehow a huge misunderstanding, or there was an emergency....so if there is anyone out there in the area who might know anything, I would really appreciate it if you could let me know.

Thank you! Sorry for such a downer post...but the loss of a BJD, especially since I was so excited to get a Unoa in return, has really upset me...

Finally going to do it.

I am going to start 2014 off with something I should have done years ago.

Put my Iplehouse Sword Dancer Kamau up for sale.

I can't stand him...he's too big and heavy, I hate his body like a plague and because he was so expensive and an LE I am afraid to do anything with him...I've been waffling about it for a year or more and I think I just need to do it. Which is why I'm writing this XD It's my way of gearing myself up for the sale!!

It just makes me sick that (other than VLKS Michele) he's my most expensive doll and I know I won't get back what I paid for him...Which is why I've hung on to him for so long. Thanks to Iplehouse's full choice system why would anyone pay for an expensive LE? He is getting discontinued this year though, so maybe that'll help.



One thing is for sure, if I can sell him I am NEVER owning another IP doll again, ever. It will be a relief to move him on to a good home....

2014 Tastes Like Christmas

Because I put way too much cinnamon in my coffee this morning XD

We're having Snowmaggedon 2014. It's a Blizzard!! Warnings to stay indoors, extreme temps (it's going to be 4° tomorrow! As a high! YAY! :D  .... not.)....it's pretty much doomsday out there. And I have to go to work tomorrow. :(....

My car got fixed yesterday at a stupid-low price. They looked at it and decided it was flooded. Eh?! How the hell does a car get flooded sitting there? But they were sure that was the problem, so I went to get it, asking my friend not to leave, because I was pretty much 100% sure that it wasn't starting....and lo. I was right. They charged my $62 for half a diagnostic (nice discount!) and that was all...and since the car still didn't work, they had to take it back in. Later that evening they called back with the real problem -- the starter was corroded, so it wasn't starting, but the car would get flooded when everyone turned the key! A real answer (because I know how to start a car without it flooding...) at last!! And because the problem wasn't fixed when they told me it was, I didn't get charged for the real work XD YAY!!!

Now for the bad news. My trade for the Unoa has gone south. I shipped the day agreed, and she dropped off the face of the earth. She's not logged back in, no communication, and if she had shipped when she said she would I'd have the doll.

There could be a reason for this...the doll I sent should have been delivered yesterday and wasn't, a notice was left. Something could have happened that means she's not been home...for a week.

So I could be out a $600 doll...or she's totally disappeared (I hope not...) and it'll get shipped back to me when it's not claimed. Or she'll show up and send the Unoa -- which is the one I am hoping for. I still really want the doll.

I really hope this isn't my first bad transaction...

EDIT: Holy fucking hell. I just went out to clean off my car...we have at least 6 inches out there, it's insane!! Work closed today (of course...on a day I'm off anyway) so I'm crossing my fingers for tomorrow....especially since it's still snowing as hard as ever out there. I dressed four dolls to take one outside for snow pictures, but it's too deep...they'll be buried! WHITE OUT!!! Everything is closed...it's the end of the world...

EDIT AGAIN: more than 10 inches!!! SO CRAY! And I know I'll have to work tomorrow...nothing on the Facebook or the twitter D: NUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

ANOTHER EDIT: WOO HOO! work closed! I is sleeping in again!! Vacation never ends! Or I'll be insane from being in the house for so many days in a row! The high tomorrow is -3 (for reals), so it's probably a good thing no one will be out and about....
Now the only thing I have to do tomorrow is stress about the possible failed trade....
