Seriously. Just when you think your wishlist is safe from anything new that is put out, there's Fairyland and Dollzone.
Dollzone is company I've always enjoyed, my third doll came from there. True she was the first doll I sold XD but it was because it was Kimi, and she wasn't right with that doll (or the next 2!). The last couple of years DZ has gone above and beyond when it comes to innovative sculpts, and their whole style has been changing, and it's something I really really enjoy.
Now look what they did.

I WANT!!!
I want the whole freaking thing. He's going on my long-term wish-list, and the only reason I'm not saving for him immediately is because I kind of wish he was smaller, closer to 65 than 70. I'm mostly done with the big guys. But DAMN, I want that fullset so bad. And his face....I love it. I even love the faceup, though if I got the whole thing I wouldn't want it (but I might do something similar!!). I really want the wig too, though smaller...actually if his outfit was for a 60cm doll I'd buy it right now!!
But really, if I had the money on me, I'd get now as is.
Then there's Fairyland. *sigh*
I was not a CP fan when I started collecting dolls. Years and many many many CP dolls later I still claim not to be a fan, though only Dollmore dominates my collection more and that's only because with one exception, all my DM dolls are full DM dolls, and most of my FLs are hybrids. Only in the last few months have I grudgingly admitted that maybe I have more than an accidental interest in FL.
Now looky at this
Giant Breakaway!!!! My Breakaway is in the group that i consider my first doll-wave. He was my third FL doll and the only one of those three I didn't and would never sell. I have a soft spot for BA, always will.
And I LOVE this one. Again I want the whole set though I wouldn't even use the clothes or wig.....the scar head and the ice arm though.....oiwhghfkdfnoierhgoireehrg
The funny thing about both these dolls is, I want them for the same character! lol
Wyn (my B&G Sapphira) has an older, half-brother named Shae. I used to own Shae, he was a B&G Afra, and I created the character for this doll and he's the only character I ever made up for a doll that outgrew the mold so I sold him. I just wanted something...better.
Either of these guys would work great because I have no issues changing him up to better match the mold. Shae is cursed anyway (so either fantasy arm would be perfect, though I'd rather they be the left), and huge. He's an elf, so they'd both need some modding...but still.
If I got the BA I'd get the basic, even though I want the extra parts, because I can't justify that much...but Raymond (lol that name) is fine as is. And I want that fullset so freaking bad.
Arg. Arg. Arg.
Luckily Shae is not uber-crucial on my want list. I might hang out, wait for owner pics of both guys, actually save instead of doing a layaway and really give it some thought. I sold the original Shae about 2 years ago, he's waited this long, he can wait longer!
Plus something new might come out XD
But Dollzone....Damn they want my money. This time last year I ordered my Renata which came with my Star and in a round about way, moon head. Though I sold the Renata head the rest I still have. Deerboy is still here an not going anywhere. I ordered Ro and cannot wait to get my hands on him....I want at least two more of their new boy bodies! One for Lucifer (I decided it would be perfect for him too) and one for Mini-Wyn should such a thing ever happen (it will)....
They just keep making these fabulously imaginative dolls!! It is really getting harder to resist. And I respect them so much for taking such chances, and being so original. They rock. Doll Chateau rocks too....somehow they're part of DZ, so they all rock together. XD
*sigh* Now I'm off to rewrite my wishlist....

Puki Puki WTF?
Many people may not know this, but I have a whole mini-crew of Pukis (and one Brownie, but I kind of include him in the Pukis). I bought my first one in January of 2010 (though he actually arrived a day before my birthday four months later :\) because I was trying to run my FL order up to the event head. I didn't want a Puki, I originally was planning to turn around and sell him, but like a lot of dolls stuff, I was discussing it with my RM...
Me: so I thought I'd get a Puki to turn around and sell.
Her: ?? Why? Just buy other stuff.
Me: There's nothing else I want! And a Puki is 130 (remember those days?), the exact amount I need to get the event head!
Her: Why sell it? What if you like it?
Me: I don't want anything that small...I'll lose it! Tinies suck (I didn't really say that...but I only had one tiny then (so long ago) and didn't want more). I won't care about him....he'd just be a random doll in my group.

The only way I'd keep it is to make it into a Chibi version of Alex. (d'oh)
Crap. See how these things happen??
So I bought a Chichi - the only mold that truly represents Alex XD and since unwrapping him his angry little face has brought me nothing but smiles. Eventually I decided I need more of my characters in chibi form, and by the end of the year had David, Uriel, Isis, Aishe and Wyn (the brownie - it's the floppy ears X33 ) all Chibed up. I keep meaning to get them sets together...I'd love the coffee shop where they all hang out, and possibly Aishe's Occult shop, even a bachelor pad...but so far I gots nuthin and the Chibis just hang out in their carrier bag and occasionally go to meets. The last meet they went to was Halloween....
And I only just pulled them out last night for the first time since.

Do you ever wonder what your dolls do when you're not around? I didn't, they're dolls, right? They're not doing anything. Cause they don't move.
When I reached into my Puki bag Uriel was the first one out. He was bald. His hair was not in his slot, which is where hair usually goes when it falls off.
Alex was next. He was naked. NAKED. Except for his boots. WTF?!?!? He had been wearing a Skelly suit...it can't go on or off without removing hands and boots! It Velcros on! He can't exactly wriggle out of it on his own. And THEN put his hands and feet back on!! HOW THE HELL WAS HE NAKED?! I found his clothes after I removed everyone else... in someone else's slot. I'm not even sure what to think.
Then came Isis, who had on one black shoe, a red shoe in her HAIR (WHAT?? No one was even wearing red shoes!!!) which was a wreck, and (this is the worst) a tiny, Puki-sized candy cane was also stuck in her hair. I don't own xmas stuff for them. They went in the bag before HALLOWEEN. Where did that even come from?!?!
Other than looking horribly disheveled, the others were more or less together...but I am thoroughly freaked. I really wish I'd taken pictures. I should have taken pictures. It was just too weird and my brain shorted out and I didn't even think about it. Obviously they need more attention before they rebel and the whole house becomes a wreck. Being in a bag for two months is bad. Bad.
So the verdict is, big dolls? they don't do crap when left alone (except maybe roll around in dirt. I'm not sure how else to explain how dirty Alex gets when he's just sitting there), but Pukis?
They party hard. Don't leave them alone.

Sales update and new dolls
Ok, he's the same new doll from the previous post....the Narsha Zihu which is Alex around age 6. I'm leaning toward Kid, but I don't know if I like it. I need something inbetween Baby and LIttle and it's SO HARD! lol
If only I didn't refer to them as their labels D:
I gave him a new faceup and body blush over the weekend, weeded out a few choice clothing pieces that don't fit my Minis or the YOs and now he's got a good beginning of a wardrobe.

I have to figure out what I'm going to do about eyelashes. Not all the Alexes have them depending on eye size...but I'm thinking I might try them with him despite the tiny eyes.

I'd mentioned I might be getting rid of some of my dolls and I think I'm at least going to post some and see if they sell. I don't do anything with them and it would be nice to clean some out. I've already sold a body, getting rid of one SD (I now have two heads "sharing" a body - so if Maggie is ever needed for a photo-shoot she will move Theresa off the AOD body - otherwise it's Theresa's permanently) and one of the DZ Moons is now gone to a better home, so I am already feeling better about my group.

Oops. I did it again.
Some of you may have noticed that I have a Nappy Choo Popo on my Wish List, listed as an infant version of Alex (cause I need more of him). This happened because I saw one in person, died from the cute, came back to life and showed it too my roommate in hopes she would get one, and who immediately said I needed one to be baby Alex.
Me: I have a baby Alex. It's Baby Alex.
Her: You could have another one.
Me: *snort* Like I need another one. *thinks about it for all of 3 seconds* Oh crap, now I need one.
This idea has been banging around in my head since October and I fully intend to get one next year.
Yesterday I was thinking about it (this is where all bad ideas come from - thinking) and I thought if I could have a younger baby Alex (Infant Alex?? What would I call him? D: ) why couldn't I have an Alex in between Baby and Little (DMK Pado)? Which would get me something I always wanted but never came up with an excuse to own...a Narsha or Narsha sized doll. The only problem is, Narshas are pretty realistic, especially next to my group, most especially Alex who straddles that line between totally stylized and kind of realistic. If only there was a way to try a doll out before buying...
Oh wait.
So I email the RM, and ask if I could borrow her Narsha Zihu for a few days...a boy I turned into a girl for her who has been around since August and still has no name. She said yes, and when we got home from a friends last night, I snagged the poor doll and changed it's clothes and wig...
Her: You didn't tell me what you where going to with her!! D:
Me: Oh come on, it's me. What else would I do with her?! *brandishes new "Alex"*
Her: Now it looks just like Tween! (Dollmore Liebe Klum - Teen Alex)
Me: All finished, how does he look?
Her: Like Alex! Arg get it away!!!! I can't look anymore!
Now I have this doll on my hands that I've always wanted and I already love it to bits...but I'm still unsure of the looks.
In all honesty it does look like Alex. It has his down-turned eyes and the unsure look the younger ones all have, and soft features. The color is perfect. The feel is perfect. I love the hands and the size (I've loved Narshas since day one so that's not super surprising). Somehow this mold does resemble Tween....but Baby And Little Alex? Not so much.

Also a terrible photo...but you get the idea. It's in the eye-size and face-size. The Zihu's face is larger than both of them and his eyes are smaller.
On one hand, I say screw it, I love the doll. LOVE the doll. I convinced her to buy it because I wanted it and didn't have anything I could do with it (human tinies - other than Alex - I do not want). By himself, he's perfect...
Next to the others......I don't know. The thing is, I looked around at other tinies of similar size - Blue Fairys and Custom House - And I'm not crazy about them. The BFs are too stylized, moreso than Baby Alex even. Custom House Mars and a couple other sculpts would possibly work, but A. Custom House seems to have disappeared, and even if they hadn't, I'm still unsure of buying from them, B. second hand they're more expensive than Narsha's are new AND more than Little Alex was! Which is ridic. And C. both the CH and the BF look really thin to me, almost like mini people, not children of maybe 6 years old. So really I'm not even sure there's a better alternative.
And, oh yeah, did I mention my RM said she'd sell him too me?? So I don't even have to give him back? Yeah. I'll probably keep him >.< and this whole journal will have been for nothing XD
Because really the WHOLE entire reason for multiple Alexes is because I want the doll and I bond almost immediately with Alex in whatever shell he's in. It's an easy fix. I know him at every age from 0-500 and beyond...
That's a lot of potential dolls D:
I am a little afraid that somewhere down the line I'll look at him and think he's not working...And though I don't even have to pay her right away so I've got time...It will be a disappointment. He's so cute. And I really want the doll.

Why Alex Hates Christmas.
It's my fault...I do things to him during the holidays.

I don't have a picture of his first Christmas meet, nor do I remember it, but I have been told he just dressed as santa...which means he looked something like this...
Which is from the first series of holiday photos I took of him. *sigh* so sad. It went downhill from there. OMG old faceup is old. First faceup I ever commissioned. I've only had one person paint Alex, my friend Lady Samhainne, who is awesome enough to put up with him. She painted him twice and then I finally took over. She also did my IH Kamau, because I didn't want to deal with him and she does an amazing job on IH EIDs.
2009
Yeah. He went from fully dressed and showing a little skin to....that. You can see how "young" he is...no tattoos! XD
I did a shoot with this outfit, but as it was a million years ago they all suck, and I never did a Holiday shoot again, so from here on out it's all meet photos XD
2010
I especially love this one cause of the Ho.
and no, he's not wearing anything under the bow.
Omg he's so clean!! That was his last faceup done by someone other than me... Those are the same eyes as in all the other pics, yet they look really blue here O.o All his tatts are present, as is his "label" (this is I(one), btw).

The credit for this goes to another local collector who suggested it when I was complaining that I couldn't top the bow. Obviously I was wrong.
It's held on by some clear elastic string and that's it. Aw, he's his old, grungy self here...just like he is now. FYI the first two times I blushed Alex were right before the Holiday meets of 08 and 09 because I have issues with him running around mostly naked and unblushed XD
His is the first body blushing I ever attempted.
You can tell he's resigned to his fate now as he's no longer flipping the camera off.

Just this past Sunday....
It could be the worst yet.
This was the first year for real whiskey. I actually had a doll sized mini-Jack this year and was so excited to use it...and left the damn thing at home!!! ARG! Luckily the meet hostess stepped up to make sure my eyes weren't stabbed by tiny, doll-sized knives in the night by lending me some! :D
Alex can't dress like this sober.
This is the best pic I have, and you still can't really tell that that's a mini santa hat down there. It was worse in person because the little puff-ball on the end was....strategically placed. My roommate's doll is "Santa's Slutty Helper"
No tinies were allowed near him during this meet. A much nicer Santa (who was fully clothed) was sitting on another table.
So there you go, Xmas Alex through the years. I think he dreads the Holiday meet all year long.
Bleh. He needs a new faceup now, so freaking bad. And a redo of everything else. His blushing is gross, he's had it fixed and redone at least once after a birthday shirt left him so stained I had to strip his whole torso and start from scratch...and he's so dirty. The magic eraser can only do so much...I am really hoping that the next time you see him he's all fresh and redone! :D
Or at least has a new faceup. *crosses fingers*

I meant to start one when I began this blog but never did because I don't really have pictures. Should I bother? I'd like too, but hc....so many heads D:

2013 Plans
2013 is approaching fast. As is usual I have a list of things I'd like to accomplish over the next several months. It's a hopeful list lol as I've been wanting to give David a new faceup and body blushing for a while and NOTHING. Pretty much everyone could use an updated wardrobe, especially all my minis who usually wear what they've got on and nothing else. There might be some sales, as I've got a handful of dolls I've done nothing with even though I like them, and I could use the space.
There are way more dolls in my collection atm that need work, but these are the ones that are just pleading with me to redo. I'm really excited to mess with my bunny collection right now. There's a few things I want - clothing items and new faceups - that will help them out some. I really need to work on settings/backgrounds for them. I have ideas for pictures that I can't really do due to lack of an area :|
EDIT: since typing this I came up with some head/body part swapping that might help me with the selling/discontent with some of my newest. Tonight I'll pull apart a few of my girls and see who fits what better....Then by the end of the week I'll have an idea of what I want to do....
