Seriously that should have been the name of this blog.

This week I finally got around to putting up my Latidoll Blue Rei for sale. I didn't want too, I really like him, but he's not David, and he's not anyone else.

I listed a bunch of trades, and got an offer the next day that I declined for various reasons...the same person then came back and offered me an AOD 1/4 girl body in WS, which I took because I know that body, and I figured I can do a couple of different things with it.

Then I had the Greatest Idea EVER.

Take my Dollzone Star/Renata hybrid, devine and behead her, put her human arms on and get a different head - pereferably a MNF head - and call her Mini Isis. Somehow get a WS MNF SP Scar Breakaway head, sand the boobs off the AOD body and make a Mini Aishe. Two dolls and all I really need to buy are two heads. Great idea right?

I don't really want to lose my Star/Renata though....but part two of Greatest Idea Ever was to buy a Doll Chateau girl body with those extra joints and put her on that, making her the most awesome doll I'll ever own. There's something else I really want from DC so I figured I'll just put both things on a nice long layaway and be endlessly excited.

So I go home and try the Star head on my roommates DC Queena...I was right, awesomest doll ever. Step one, taken care of. Renata arms came off and both head and arms go in box.

I locate and start stringing the human arms on the body. Something is wrong.

The first thing I noticed was how BIG they were. HUGE. They looked bigger than her legs. And weirdly long. With one whole arm and most of the other on, I thought they looked backwards. I checked an rechecked but the left was on the left...but they literally turned in, and couldn't bend right.

I looked the DZ body up online and discovered the problem...I had been sent boy arms, not girl arms.
Normally, this would not be the end of the world. Contact the dealer and get it taken care of, right?

But I've had her for more than a year. And I didn't make the order, someone else did, who also got the wrong arms. Neither of us knew because this was the first time I even looked at them, other than spraying them with MSC then putting them right back in a bag...they'd never been on before.

Not to mention since I didn't place the order I can't guarantee that the right arms were even ordered. If she ordered the boy arms by mistake it's her fault not the dealers... and we're really sol. Only it's just me, because I don't think she cares at all.

So not only do I seriously doubt the dealer will do anything, but lets pretend for one second that they will. I will have stark white arms on my yellowed doll. Yippee.

But even that's better than the alternative, which sucks.

My options:
Sell the boy arms. If they sell, buy girl arms. Wait a million years, get arms that are whiter than doll.
That's the best option, and will only be somewhat good if I can sell the boy arms. Other than that

I buy girl arms, am out another $70 and wait a million years for white arms.

Sell the DZ body for a fraction of what it costs new because it has no arms, buy a new DZ body and a new DC body. Which will cost a fortune because selling the old one won't make up for the cost of a new one. So I'll essentially be buying two new dolls, instead of a body and a couple heads.

Keep the Star/Renata as is. Give up on either Mini Aishe or Mini Isis. Boo.

None of them are great.
All of this could have been avoided if I'd realized I had the wrong arms a year ago. But no, I never even looked at them. Why bother? I wasn't putting them on my Renata...I bought her for the vines, the arms were just in case...

This after Fairyland pulls the Moe line (I was totally going to try and get one for mini Kimi), and I buy a faceplate (still mia) and head (both limited) from sellers that have dropped off the face of the earth before shipping my stuff. (head both seem to have shipped!! GOOD NEWS AMONG THE NOT SO GOOD!!! This alone has revived my mood.) I'm not in a great doll mood.

ETA: also, I did find and pm a seller about a sleeping MNF Breakaway head. She has yet to pm me back, she's been on DOA and bumped the thread since... I guess that's good for me. I'll save the money I was going to spend on her head.
Got a pm from her...since I am weak, I will be buying the head.

Can't decide what to do with a Doll?

Whelp I somehow ended up with a new doll. I can't seem to do the "no more new dolls" no matter what. Actually I have a couple...but only one that I had to shove money at.

A few of you may remember my Dollshe Saintfail...and how I randomly bought a Leekeworld Kyou head to possibly replace the Saint head as Israfel about a year ago when Leeke suddenly decided they weren't selling basics anymore.

Kyou proved to be way too big for the Saint body and I stashed him away in a box, put him up for sale and he's remained that way for months and months. Only a few people have been interested, and I ruined the sales by being honest (the head is huge. When they ask if it will fit a certain body I have to say what I really think, which is usually no XD).

Last week - I honestly don't remember what put the idea in my head at all - I decided to keep him and make him a character. I figured he could be Sammael, and I could mod the hell out of him, then possibly hate him because Sammael is awful, or Michael, not mod him at all, and have Gabriel's twin brother. I don't know why it took me a day or two to decide on Michael, but there you go.

So I tried to get him a cheap body and it didn't work out (which is for the better. She said it had no yellowing, but was a creamy color. =_= RS WS is WHITE, not creamy. Obviously it was yellowed), so I turned around and bought one from DDE that was in stock. They didn't send me a shipping notice (or my blackhole of an email ate it. I need to fix that....) and my brand-new Resinsould Dong (eh?) showed up last night. I beheaded him and then accidentally unstrung the body (I'm getting good at that...). Then I left it in pieces and went out for dinner and shopping with friends.

Then I came home, put on Smallville and restrung the stupid thing with 5mm string (homg). He can almost stand. RS is, if nothing, consistent. The same issues I have with the 70cm girl body I have with the 70cm boy body. Most can be solved by stringing, sueding and wiring, which I will work on tonight, hopefully finish his faceup, and try Metatron's black jacket on him (OH I HOPE IT FITS!! It's totally going to be too big) along with some other clothes....so he's not nekkid.

I had a random brown wig laying around that I SWEAR I have no idea where it came from, and while it barely fits his giant head, it's the perfect color, so he's wearing it for now. Eyes are a bit of a problem....I had some nice goldish ones I stole from Pilot for him, but the ones I put in Pilot turned out to be too big...so he's got his old ones back. Michael should have green eyes to match Gabriel...but I have a lot of green-eyed dolls. My choices are grey (also have a lot of grey-eyed dolls), orange, dark green...and something I can't remember. Probably a few more too. Or I buy him eyes :P

The head is a little larger than I'd like on the skinny RS body, but I was expecting it, and I don't care. This is when you realize that A. I'm waaaaaaaaay more picky about my more favorite characters looking perfect than I am the others and B. I keep telling myself the RS bodies (Gabriel's too) are only "temporary" until I decide that yes, I want to keep them around, and I can find and afford better ones. We'll see how that works. Amazingly enough, these two are my first Resinsoul/BBB hybrids.

SO anyway, Michael. He's one of the few characters I've actually had appear in my comic so far, so I have pictures.

The wig I have isn't curly, and I'm seriously thinking of trying to braid and then boil it...but I don't know how that would work.

I seem to have labeled them all, so I don't need to tell you which one he is XDD

Now we get to the whole point of this post....
You may notice the Chibi Michael has an eye-patch, while the comic-version does not. This is because *spoilers sweetie* later in the story, he loses his eye. Hence, eye-patch.

I don't know what to do with the doll. Do I give him a cool scar and blind eye with a patch?? Or just let him go "normal"?? On one hand it'll be easier not to deal with the mods and eye-patch. on the other, I have.... A lot of dolls. And none of them wear an eye-patch, so for the sake of my dolls and diversity, I kinda want to do it! On the other hand the mod will be a PITA and I don't really have time for it atm, I'd have to get blind eyes since I only have one pair and Azrael has them (he's not blind but as death, I feel like he should have "dead" eyes)....and I have no eye-patch anywhere nor do I know where to buy one.

And while my dolls are generally the characters at a fixed point in time, some of them represent a giant span of time...Angels are eternal (until they get themselves killed), so I feel weird making one of them stuck forever in one small span of time if that makes sense....

If I could only get another head....LOL NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Luckily that's not even an option. But still!

I dunno. I'm still debating. Scar mods I can add in later, so for now he'll get a faceup and be "finished".

Anyone know where I can get some decent military-esque clothing for a 70cm doll??

Also, I seriously want another Kara Klum. OMG SOMEONE STOP ME!!!!!

Another Year Gone By

 lol my friend called him "manly" in that last shot. Something that would no doubt make him happy XD Since he's not. At all.
I think I need to find eyelashes that are more in scale. these look huge!! I think they're just stuck together though. Or they grow in photos.
The jacket was his bday gift (he's the only doll I do that for). It's got a 13 on the back so I thought it wildly appropriate, and lame at the same time.

I recetnly posted a photo from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day of I and III on III's arrival day. They were both naked and bald and SO CLEAN AND PRETTIES!!! It makes me want to wipe them all and start over. *dies* sooo much work.... D: D: D: D: D: D: D: D:
III really needs it though. He's hit the "new faceup is now the oldest of my Kara Klums faceups and therefore is old" stage. And his MSC has yellowed pretty badly. He has the most and best of all their tatts though...wiping him will be sad. No more sad than any of them I guess...

So I've been in the hobby for five years now. Exactly, today.
What have I learned?

These dolls are not as fragile as people make them out to be.
The more I learn and the more I do with them, the more I enjoy the hobby.
I am addicted to white blond wigs, even though only Alex wears them.

My faceups are not the best, I don't have the greatest skills, but I like them more than anyone elses.
Same goes for my dolls.

Dollmore's Kara Klum is still my favorite mold, five years and a lot of dolls later. No contest (I think I need more...)
Volks dolls are not as ugly as I thought they were when I first started.
Neither are CP dolls.

As with Nike, when it comes to BJDs the best attitude to have it "just do it" (if only I could abide by that 100% of the time....)

It isn't the number of dolls you have but the enjoyment you get out of them.
Same goes for the price tag. And popularity. (I have "cheap" and unpopular dolls - I love them all!!)

I can name as many dolls the same name as I want too!!

Friends are awesome, you can't have too many. Both IRL and internets friends. Seriously, they're awesome.

My identity was stolen!! STUPID SCHNUCKS!!! WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU STOP THIS WHEN YOU HAD THE CHANCE!

Luckily my bank is smarts and realized I wouldn't be running my card for over $4000, and cancelled it on the spot...unluckily now I have no debit card! For 7 to 10 days! DAMNIT! I CAN'T SHOP!!!

And I pmed someone on DOA this morning about buying a body. How the hell can I pay them without my card? FUCK. Now I'm going to look like a flake.

And I'm going to have to change everything. Everywhere. No more amazon. No more itunes. Not that I buy from there regularly. No Paypals. NO MORE STARBUCKS!!! D: D: D:

No nothing. I'm doomed. BOOOOOO PEOPLE SUCK SPEND YOUR OWN DAMN MONEY!
